Americas Best Value Inn Brownsville

This was my go-to motel for when i work in Brownsville (quite often) but the manager just tried a trick I have not yet encountered and I will not be returning unfortunately. I arrived at approximately 11am and asked if he had a room available that I could get into early. He said he did and so I asked if it was OK if I used my normal app that I always use. Not to my surprise, he said yes that's fine but if you book online you have to wait till 2 or 3 or whatever their normal check-in time is. I kind of expected this so I told him that I would book thru him even tho it was going to cost me about $25 more than what my app would have cost. Location near to the port of Brownsville and this is the only reason to choose these two motels in the area.Hi humidity and wet floor all the time. Walking in from outside will make the floor dusty as well.Breakfast very poor.

Positive: The bed was comfortable Negative: The staff did not know what the connection to Sonesta. Or how to attach a Travel Pass Membership to the reservation. Several smoke detectors were disabled which is concerning

This place was disappointing. I reserved a double bed room for me and my 3 kids! They charged extra per person. The restroom smell bad when we got there. My pillow smelled bad. The shower dispensers had no soap or shampoo. We had our own so it wasn’t too bad. The breakfast was just cereal. They pretended to have drinks but was just water with food coloring, it tasted awful when you’re expecting juice not worth the $150 we paid.

Let’s get right into it. Clean rooms from top to bottom ☑️ Cleaning service cleans everyday. Which is how it should be, and used to be at any decent hotel. This is to make sure no build up of dirt, mold ect. accumulates. The appliances are up to date with a real mini fridge, separate freezer so you can buy decent groceries if staying longer than a day. I recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay while on business, wifi is great also. It is also quiet here, there is order 💯 meaning no loud disturbances. There is a small breakfast station for a toast, cereal, juice,and coffee also. Almost forgot.. there is a clean pool 3.5 ft- 5.2 feet!
