American Inn Sedalia Hotel

Do not recommend staying here. Room was full of roaches and bugs. Think I may have even picked up bed bugs from this place. I had a 2 bed room to myself and the lady at the front desk told me to only use 1 bed. Thought it was strange and gross that she admitted they are cutting corners when it comes to cleaning and changing sheets after guests.

We came to be close to the State Fair. The room was full of bugs. Flies, roaches, and crickets were hopping, jumping, and flying around. Room smelled like smoke when we entered. We went to the front desk to complain about our room, and we were offered another room. We went in that room and it smelled better, but a roach ran across the table upon entering. All our stuff was in our first room. The front desk lady came into our room and said we were making it up when we have video evidence. She offered us a Raid can to kill them ourselves, and told us when people come to this motel they understand there will be bugs. We instantly got on the phone and moved to another one down the street.

I checked in at 9 pm after a long ride. First came it was hot in the room and it smelled! Turned on the AC and walked in the bathroom, saw a fly there! I haven’t seen flies in a motel room ever. I walked in the bathroom this morning now there are 3 huge flies in the bathroom! Tried to make coffee and saw that there was a used pod sitting in the slot, don’t even know when that was used 🤮! Don’t come here unless it’s your last resort!

Positive: The window A/c worked well. Negative: The place was disgusting. More than 15 house flies in the room, lamp cord melted and had bare wires, the toilet had no water in the tank and couldn't flush, burn holes in the bed covers and the pillows looked from a homeless camp. Didn't stay.

Got scammed out of half the deposit bc my 1 year old spit out a goldfish on the sheets. Place was filthy covered in cobwebs. Filthy ac filter . And used razor in the bathroom trash. So go if u need bare minimum a bed to sleep in but dont count on the place being cleaned since the main maid is an underage child.
