American Inn

It was late.. so I didn't invest much thought toward the curt, almost ill mannered quickness of the checking clerk. I do not like having to stand outside in the cold. To PAY for a room. When the attendant is surrounded by glass either way. The rooms are ok. Very large. Could use a fresh coat of paint and some modernizing. Otherwise the bedding was fresh. It was obvious by the aroma of detergent. That smelled strong enough to of been same day washed linen. Microwave, refrigerator, cable TV, and a huge @$$ window. Not at all a bad stay. Kinda impressed honestly. You get a room anywhere else for that price.... and... Well.. it ain't this

The rooms are large, they are clean, the showers have plenty of hot water, my only complaint is the hard bed ,you can feel the springs in it, otherwise it's a large bed The price is good for the value the size and im suprised he doesn't charge more than $60. Friendly and professional. L

We stayed there about 4 months until our house was ready. I've heard some and some bad about the place. But we had a good experience with them they kept rates way more affordable than any other place. The owner spent 7 days a week cleaning rooms and maintaining the outside. He also sprayed rooms and when times got hectic he weeded out the ones causing problems. Thanks again to the friendly staff and owners of the American Inn we really enjoyed staying there along with a new respect for you as owners and all the hard work you put in to make things affordable. Got a room offered to us at a discounted rate despite being a little late for check-out time the previous day. The couple who run this place are nothing short of angels...they're very accommodating to their guests and always working hard to maintain clean rooms. Lowest rates in Marshall county. Free WiFi is always appreciated. 5 stars!

Cons: King sized cockroaches and no hot water Pros: New management very helpful. Sent maintenance over immediately to spray, and came in every morning to fiddle with the plumbing upstairs to get hot water down to our room for showers. If this motel survived the hurricane, I'm sure the new management would have it back ib shape by now. Also, the only gluten free option at breakfast is yogurt.
