American Creek Campground

Tent camped there on 6/14/2025. Great people & extremely friendly! Clean facilities & great peaceful place for the tent, right next to the water. Easy walk for a swim.

This is a nice location but a jammed packed campground. They have FULL HOOK UP sites but the website says they don’t. They have a few sites facing the water. If you don’t get those you’re hosed. Tons of kids running everywhere, a zillion dogs and golf cars, a lady asked us if she could come in our RV as we were setting up. We squeezed into a space they had for us and I told the office if you park anyone in the tiny space 8feet from our front door we won’t be able to get out without going over the grass. She said no one was coming in for 24 hours. 3 hours later there was someone parked there while 5 sites behind us were open. Seems like she likes to cram all the 1-2 night people together on the end. I’d not stay here again or recommend

They should rename it to Un-American River RV Park. We went as a family. This was our third time in three years visiting. The office employee was very rude to our children's grandmother the first year. Rude to their great grandmother the second year and rude to me (Dad) this year. They call it a "campground". We paid $110+ for two nights for the RV spot (which is attached to a small grass area with hookups, a fire pit and picnic table). I was confused why it would cost $80 extra to set up a tent for two days on our spot so I went to ask before we paid. She couldn't explain it past "kids" as her reason so she got on the phone with the boss and called me a "stupid idiot of a man" in front of our kids over the phone for wondering. So glad I found this gem! Not only clean and quiet, but the views are incredible! Staff is great and take good care of the place. Very friendly. I liked it so much, I stayed an extra day. Can't wait to get back here again.

No room was used, but I think cabins are avaliable. A little pricey, but very nice. Staff is very accommodating. Bathhouse was clean, convenient, and well maintained. Sites were pretty level and easily accessible, although a little close together. A nice overnight stop in a travel trailer.
