Alpine Moose Lodge

Called last minute and got a room. View from the porch of lake city is great. The owners were very friendly, accommodating and kind. Would come back! They had microwave and some dishes and dish washing things. They also give you fresh coffee. Used the lodge as a jump off for mountain climbing.

We arrived later at night on a Friday, near closing of the restaurant and the lady and her daughter were working. They were so friendly. We checked in and she asked if we were hungry. Not expecting to have anything we said yes. We then had one of the best pizzas ever. The pizza is amazing! The people are extremely friendly and have outstanding customer service. The rooms are about what you’d expect in an old little mountain town. No A/C or heat but they have a cute little kitchenette. The rooms are clean and they have fresh ground coffee. They are not “nice” and the outlets are worn out but they have charm to them. It’s far from five star rooms but the customer service and the pizza are so good you’ll forget about everything else. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to L

I stayed at Alpine Moose Hotel on Septemver 12. I was on a 6 day solo motorcycle trip that brought me through Lake City. I camped most nights, but decided to book a room due to the bad weather. I rode in rain and snow for about 6 hours that day and just wanted a place to warm up, dry out, and take a shower. The room was cold when I arrived. There is no permanent heat source. I was directed to use a very small electric space heater. I had it turned on high and by morning the room was a comfortable temperature. I decided to take a shower to warm up. There was no hot water. By morning I had enough hot water to take a lukewarm 5-minute shower. It then went cold again. After checking out, I made a kind and professional request for a partial credit since this fell far short of the expe

This lodge is hands down one of the best places I have stayed! The customer service was AMAZING. Owners/staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. Stayed here to run the San Juan Solstice and I will 100% be staying here again when I return to run again! I HIGHLY recommend Alpine Moose Lodge!!!! also, dog friendly is a huge plus!!!

Classic older model with various upgrades. Some good, some marginal. Room was clean and offered the basics. Bed was acceptable but felt well used. The bathroom is rather tiny and confining. If you're 6ft+ or on the larger size you'll be quite cramped on the tiny toilet and retro fit tub shower. Hot water? It comes and goes- good luck. Tracy was very nice and offered tips on food and more. Location is a bit far from the downtown area bars and food but walking is possible to the closer places. Overall it met, but certainly did not exceed, our goals and expectations.
