One might believe you can’t mess up Bavarian cuisine. Wrong. Everything on the menu a culinary disaster. Nothing authentic or even a passable attempt following a recipe Seasoning either non existent or wildly overdone. Potato salad was hot roasted potatoes with bouillon seasonings “Jägerschnitzel” was a pre-breaded cutlet which smelled strongly, fried, with cold mushroom dollop dropped on top. “Spätzle” were KRAFT size noodles, red cabbage (I had to spit out) The cheese fondue looked and tasted like warmed up Cheese-Whizz, inedible. Burgers (out of tomatoes) patties seemed to be from Costco, overly greasy and unseasoned. Giant pretzel was fine but overly greasy. About as modern as a pair of wooden skis. It’s old, it’s quirky, and the rooms have definitely seen better decades. But for ski-in/ski-out access and a decent fondue, it gets the job done. You’re paying for the 30-second walk to the Tram, not the interior design

This restaurant has been a family favourite for 30+ years, with their fondue being the highlight. ||Unfortunately our dinner experience was so poor that we will not be returning. ||The Fondue was… not a fondue. It tasted like it had been reconstituted from a freeze dried, long life army ration bag. ||What has happened? ||Our table remained uncleared to the end of the meal. We were one of 2 tables in the restaurant, so it was not a busy evening. ||Honestly, we couldn’t be more disappointed. ||Not only was the food poor, but the hotel looks like it needs a huge investment to bring it back to life. ||With such a great location, you’d expect it to be buzzing, yet it was so quiet, a rolling tumble weed would not have been out of place. ||I guess we did not get the memo that the once-lovely A

We came for dinner especially for the fondue. It was like warmed plain queso. No flavor, the wrong consistency and color. So disappointed! They need to look up a classic French recipe and give it a go. The rest of the food was good though and the service was excellent.
