Alger Falls Motel

Basically U.P. motel...dated rooms and furniture, basic essentials...mini fridge and microwave are a bonus but it'd be helpful if the housekeeper could clean the microwave and get the yellow pee crust on the toilet hinges..not to mention she left her cigarette buttt behind the toilet. Couldn't check in until halfway through the day at 3pm, so that itself is basically like wasting half a day just to get into the room. Worst bed ever...had grooves worn into mattress where people slept consistently. 👎

This is a very comfortable, clean and updated motel about a mile outside of Munising. The room and bathroom are not large. However there are two bedside tables and a small round table and two chairs. The bed is a king and very comfortable. We stayed two nights and it was just fine. The only downside is the traffic noise from M28.

Positive: Comfortable, clean and convenient for our actitivies. Negative: Noisy snowmobilers (the machines, not the riders). But we expected that.

Stayed in small cottage/cabin. Simple, cozy cabin stocked with most kitchen supplies. Bedrooms are really tight. Beds were comfortable but sofa sleeper was horribly uncomfortable. Kids enjoyed the pool table onsite. We appreciated coffee onsite. Great location Just a few minutes away from downtown Munising. Cabin was clean. Many hooks in the bathroom but they could add shelves or something for storage in the bathroom. We noticed an odd odor initially but I think it was from a cleaning solution they used because it resolved after a day.

This was the cheapest motel in Munising, by far. The chains were $200 and up, while this was $139 before tax. The bed was comfortable. The room was a bit small, but more than enough for a couple. There is a fridge with a freezer compartment and a microwave. There is a wall AC unit. The bathroom is small but adequate. The motel office has free coffee and an ice machine. There is a small round table with two chairs. It's not the cleanest motel but not bad. The only downside is that the motel is set back only about 50 feet from the road which is a busy highway. As it is a couple miles outside Munising, the traffic hasn't slowed down at all and is going 50-60 mph.
