Abbey Archway Inn

I read some negative reviews and they seem to revolve around the off site building. We can’t speak for that experience. We stayed in the main center. When you come to a city of 35000 people in the middle of winter, don’t expect Dubai accommodations. The place was perfect. It’s locally family owned which I strongly support. I rather give my money to these folks to stay in business and Holiday Inn can look after itself. The gentleman received us at 2am, plus other guests and personally brought everyone to their suite. The suite was clean, very well equipped with fridge, stove…. Like an apartment. The beds were perfectly comfortable. It was beautifully warm despite -40 temperatures. Positive: The staff was friendly and helpful. Homemade breakfast was interesting and good. Negative: My room was in another building several blocks from the office and the kitchen for breakfast, which wasn’t very convenient. I was put into a room that was like a mini apartment and I did not need the stove, refrigerator, etc.

Travelled across Asia, south and North America, Europe and parts of Africa- can’t recall a “terrible”vote. In context of North America this place is. Clear that this has become a choice for next-to last resort longer term accommodation, as with our neighbours the residents of room 207 persistent loud music, had to knock on door at 1 am. The stench of cannabis wafted through from this unit- at all hours necessitated us opening our windows and ac on full blast. Midnight sun seems to imply that it’s ok for loud “parties” on the lawn at midnight. Stayed in “studio appt” - obvious older place and in need of a deep clean- surface clean. Housekeeping undisciplined and chaotic. “Kate” without knocking or announcing entered our room mid afternoon seeing us there just said “sorry” and walked out

We reserved a room through Expedia for this property. We had a confirmation and our credit card was charged. When we made the reservation we indicated we would be arriving at 2:00 a.m. because our flight landed at Fairbanks airport at 1:00 a.m. We called and a very pleasant lady told us to call when we arrived. She even mentioned she had gotten someone checking in at 3:30 a.m. the day before. When we arrived we called and a man said he couldn't find our reservation. He also pointed out that it was 2:00 in the morning and people were trying to sleep. We called Expedia and they confirmed we had the reservation and our room was paid for. They tried to call the gentleman we spoke to but he refused to answer the phone. We had been traveling for over 15 hours and had no place to spend the night

A quaint hotel that is a little over 3 miles away from the Fairbanks Airport. The office is located at one place and then some of the rooms are located about a half a mile away from the office. The lady who checked me in drove me from the office to the other location. Quiet kind of a residential location around it so not many options for food unless you uber it.
