The campgrounds r pretty big and nice. U can rent a cabin or a yurt or u can put up a tent. Has a nice beach ( don’t swim ). Also u can hike to a light house. Has a museum near by about Luis and Clark. The whole camp area is really big. Nice to explore. We rented a yurt nice and cozy. Also a tip bring a sleeping bag it gets to cold at night. Another thing if u r going with tent bring a waterproof tent cuz when we went there it was raining, hailing, and even snowing a little bit too. Also bring waterproof clothes.

A little over a 30-minute drive from Astoria, Oregon gets you to the beautiful Cape Disappointment State Park. If you're planning to cape here you'll need to make a reservation. I came for a hike around the park and a climb to the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse. I regret I missed the North Head Lighthouse but plan to make a hike that way in the near future. There's plenty to do here. You can explore the beach, watch birds, launch boats, go crabbing, camping and more. There's a pretty big jetty here and worth a climb. Just make sure you take your time and make sure you can make the jumps from boulder to boulder, most surfaces are pretty slippery as well. Definitely worth a visit if you're camping her or out for a little exploration.||Cheers.

I booked 2 campsites in loop D near Lake O ‘ Neil in Cape Disappointment state park in January. My camping experience was ruined because of the mess created by raccoons. We reached our campsite after sunset and kept a bag of unopened chips on the picnic table before we started setting up the tents. In less than 5 min of our arrival the raccoon stole the bag of chips and tried to escape. So it was clear that we couldn’t have any food outside. That was a bummer. I had called the park to check if Loop D sites were operating and had no issues. It would have been helpful if the park office warned us of raccoons attacking campsites. We would have better prepared ourselves. Even after no food was kept outside while we were sitting by the campfire the raccoons were roaming the campsite multiple ti

This campground (and A Loop) are definitely worth a visit. The WIDE sandy beach at the end of the loop was a surprise to me, I have to confess - I was expecting a rocky shoreline. It was lovely to be on the beach at sunset with a view to the north of the North Head Lighthouse. Campground bathrooms and showers were impressive - PRIVATE individual locking rooms (and lighted occupancy indicators) with full locking doors for the toilets and showers. Pretty good spacing and landscaping between the campsites on A Loop, and I like the circular arrangement. We will definitely be back!

Definitely did not disappoint. We were at A21, it was close to the beach and absolutely clean campsite with full hookup. If you don’t need a hookup, B104, 105, 106 are awesome sites. There were countless small plastic particles on the beach, we took a bag with us during our numerous walks so we could pick them up. We biked the discovery trail to Long Beach, it was incredible. Light houses, Deadman’s Cove, jetty hikes and so much more… LOVE this place.
