The room was very nice and spacious. The bed & pillows were awesome. Best sleep ever in a long time. The only downfall was the water pressure in the shower which was horrible. The customer service at the front desk was excellent. As for the restaurant, Los Cielos, we only ate there once. The service was extremely slow with only a handful of people there. The food was okay. We'd give it a 4 out of 10 stars.

We stayed at A Lodge on the Desert for just over 2 months and it had most everything we needed to feel like home while our newly purchased home was being remodeled. Most everything we own was in storage so we needed some place to stay that had a kitchen and laundry facilities. A Lodge in the Desert fit the bill very nicely for us. LaVerne was very helpful whenever we had a question and we had some nice chats. -- I will always remember the night my husband and I sat out on the upper east facing patio, overlooking the city and the beautiful Organ Mountains, eating dinner with the sun setting behind us and then the moon rising over the Organ Mountains with the city lights sparkling below. What a sight!

Beautiful, comfortable Bed and Breakfast! I've stayed many times! Large rooms, with fully stocked kitchens, big bathrooms, beautiful views, several patios and balconies. The beds and linens are supremely comfortable!! Egyptian cotton, silk, down, ... I don't even know, but so cozy! The lodge is like an elaborate, artful mansion. You could get lost, but I love that! It's beautiful, creatively designed, and so comfortable. It's a very large place (compared to a regular house), so even if there are other guests there, you don't really know. It's very quiet. Giant picture windows and patios perfectly facing the mountains, great for watching the sunsets from inside or outside. Huge patio/event space in the front of the lodge with a large outdoor kitchen, bathrooms, and a big pretty fountain tha

Hubby and I stayed here on our way to Albuquerque from Tucson which is about halfway. We stayed the first two nights in the Executive Suite and loved it. Beautiful room and incredible sunken tiled shower in the large bathroom with a kitchenette with a full size fridge. On our way back to Tucson a week later we stayed two nights in the Kokopelli Suite which was absolutely gorgeous...jetted tub and separate shower in the very large tiled bathroom complete with closets and this room has a full kitchen. It has a private patio overlooking Las Cruces. There is also a common living area with a small kitchenette with continental breakfast items, a nice dining table, leather couches and a huge library upstairs with a patio off the library. Highly recommend this beautiful and comfortable lodge

This is a pleasant and inexpensive place to stay when visiting Las Cruces (or Mesilla) for a few days, a week, a month or longer. Each room is unique and beautifully decorated, and there is a spectacular view of the mountains from a shared balcony that is easily reached from all the rooms. It's an informal operation. They only accept checks or PayPal, there is no daily maid service and there may be not one around when you arrive. You ignore the dogs--they make a lot of noise, but they're very sweet when you meet them in person--and find your room with the key left for you on the table. That's it. You come and go as you please or just sit and look at the mountains.
