414 Hotel New York Times Square

Great boutique hotel in a fantastic Manhattan location. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and it’s just a short walk to Times Square and Broadway theaters. A cozy, quiet spot in the middle of the city—would definitely stay here again.

After making us wait to “check” the room, it was handed over as ready but was in an appalling state: dirty sheets, a pillowcase with a sweat stain and hair, crumbs on the floor, long black hair in the bathtub, and broken furniture.|We were so shocked that we had to book another hotel and lost the money. I didn’t even take photos, I was too stunned by how filthy it was.|Cleanliness and hygiene should be a basic standard, no matter how many stars a hotel has.|Absolutely to avoid.

I stayed here for 8 days during the Christmas and New Year period, and this was a very bad hotel experience. From the moment I checked in, the room had problems. I was asked to move my luggage back and forth multiple times, even though the issues were clearly the hotel’s responsibility. I requested an early check-in and was told to pay USD 30. After paying, I still had to wait for another hour. The staff provided very poor service. Many facilities advertised on the website, such as a shared kitchen, electric kettle, and microwave, were not available at all. When I requested room cleaning, it was often forgotten. On cleaning days, the staff sometimes forgot to replace trash bags, provide towels, or supply a bath mat. The room was cleaned very poorly, as if it had not been cleaned at all,

The location is excellent, with everything within walking distance, including bars. However, the rooms are in a deplorable state of cleanliness, the TV is non-functional, and the Roku remote control was not provided. Initially, I was assigned a room that hadn't been cleaned, and subsequently, I was moved to another room that was also unclean. Furthermore, the absence of trash cans has resulted in guests disposing of their garbage indiscriminately.

Positive: The hotel was very conveniently located to many attractions within walking distance. The coffee flavor selection in the morning was wonderful too. I also appreciated that the ac was on and our room was cold when we arrived after a hot day outside walking. Negative: The bed was a bit hard in my opinion. My husband didn’t mind it so 🤷‍♀️
