Wood's Resort

Great little resort, hosts are very friendly and helpful. Best value around ,great view and close to town. Cabins are very cozy and clean. You'll just need your shower supplies, food and drink and you are all set.

Wonderful place to stay. Rustic and secluded but just outside of Grand Marais (sleepy little town but you'll still find what you need). Family owned and it's evident that they work their hardest to make it a nice stay. Very friendly and helpful people. The cabin we stayed in was clean and had everything you'd want. It was two rooms and a living space with kitchen and dining area. Fridge, stove, sink, TV with cable. Seriously, way more than I expected. All you'll need is your toiletries and some bug spray. A short (and fun) walk to Lake Superior through a marsh area and over a sand dune. Many chances to see wildlife. And best of all, you'll have chipmunk friends that will visit you for peanuts. Quaint, quiet, lovely little spot on Lake Superior. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I have vacationed here multiple times and have loved it every time!

My girlfriend and I stopped by the Wood's Resort during a roadtrip through the UP on 4th of July weekend. Due to our own lack of planning, we weren't able to stay in the cabins, but David and his family were the nicest people we met during our road trip. David called around to several different motels to try and find us a place to stay, and even let us hang out and play with the chipmunks that live on the property. Next time we come to the UP, we will be staying here for sure. The hospitality is amazing. Thanks again!!
