My second time staying at Wilson Ranch with my two daughters (6 & 8). Last time was great, but my youngest was too young to ride. This time we had the full experience with a two hour ride around the ranch, a simple picnic in our room (Hideout, on the top floor) and of course the signature family style breakfast. This place is so amazing it’s honestly hard to believe it exists. There are ‘ranches’ in Montana that would charge $3,000 a night for basically the same experience. It’s one of the most beautiful locations in Oregon (therefore the world 😊), unbelievably peaceful and quiet, surrounded by cows and horses, and with the most cosy, positive home-style accommodation with just the right blend of communal areas and personal space and privacy. Can’t recommend enough.
I don’t have the words to describe how they welcomed us, I’ve never met hosts as amazing as them. We stayed for three days, and it was simply a magical experience, one that will stay in our memories forever! I don’t even need to mention how kind and generous the whole team was. Kara is an absolute sweetheart, unlike anyone I’ve ever met. I recommend this experience a thousand percent!! If you plan to visit a ranch or just stay somewhere around here, you absolutely have to come here!! A thousand thanks again to Kara and her team for our wonderful stay.
Me and my family of 5 from the Chicago area did a road trip thru northern California and Oregon and this was a highlight of the trip. My wife and kids named the horseback riding experience as the #1 thing they did on the trip. Our room was the Hideout Suite on the top floor converted attic space. It had 3 rooms with 1 bed in two room and two beds in the 3rd room. We all slept well. The breakfast in the morning was nice. My family plus a woman from Portland sat with the cook Katelynn for breakfast and the food was delicious. Scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, fresh peach pastry (peaches from the ranch), and more. All in all, my wife said she'd like to come back again in the future. So obviously, we highly recommend staying here :)e
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Wilson Ranches. This was my second time there. The first time was an unplanned stop to escape 110 degree heat during a cross-country bicycle ride in 2014. Wilson Ranches was a life-saver, and remains as welcoming now as it was then. Even though the weather was a bit stormy this trip, we were still able to get in a horseback ride and enjoyed lounging in the house. Brian & Kara and their helpers are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed the family-style breakfasts accompanied by plentiful coffee and other guests who provided an entertaining narrative of their younger years living and hunting in the area. We will be back again, but won't wait 11 years for the next visit!
Wilson Ranches Retreat B & B is a beautiful oasis in central Oregon. My husband surprised me for a lovely 51st anniversary celebration. There is nothing better than riding and smelling horses in beautiful central Oregon country. The lodging is comfortable and the breakfasts are delicious. The staff is amazing and make you feel like family. We loved chatting with owner, Kara, and Katelynn —- as well as Jonah, Katelynn’s busy son. 🥰 The entire experience was beautiful. Thank you, thank you Kara and Wilson Ranches Retreat family. It was a privilege to be in your gorgeous spaces. Thank you for sharing yourselves with us.
