My family booked a weekend trip to Wild Dunes for March and unfortunately needed to change weekends due to a memorial service/funeral that was planned concurrently. After calling Wild Dunes to address the issue, we were met with the rudest customer service I've ever experienced. No sympathy or understanding, only immediate disbelief that we would even consider asking to alter our stay. Our ask was to change weekends, and we were open to any weekend, even if we lost "value." Instead we were told that this was absolutely not possible unless we booked with travel insurance. Thankfully we did. You'd think this would be a simple fix? No. We were then asked for proof of death, only acceptable via a death certificate. Nothing rubs salt in the wound like seeking a death certificate for a loved one

This place is awesome! The location is great. Quiet community with access to so much. White sand beach a quick stroll away. Pools were very nice. Everything done very professionally with the charm you only find in the south. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Molly at the front desk. Lots of good restaurants on IOP close by. Loved Acme Lowcountry Kitchen. On premise, Coastal Crust had great pizza. Very enjoyable stay and already planning to come back.

Place was deserted this time of year, right before Christmas. But quiet just like I wanted. Not much more I can add. Looks like great golf, tennis, swimming, beach, etc. One thing of note. There is virtually nothing retail within a 12 minute drive. However, I challenge you to name a retailer or restaurant that's not within 17 minute drive. So it's far away but once you get there you can get anything. Anything reasonable if course. Although you can probably get more than that but I wouldn't know.

Longtime Guest Disappointed by New Management at Wild Dunes I’ve been vacationing at Wild Dunes for over 15 years, and until recently, it was always a highlight of my year. However, I was surprised to learn that Wild Dunes has outsourced the management of their vacation rentals to a third-party company—a change that should be clearly disclosed on their website. From the moment we arrived, it was obvious that the level of customer service had changed. We stayed in Unit 23 Back Court, which had a locked thermostat that prevented us from adjusting the temperature for our comfort. For a paid rental, that’s unacceptable. When we contacted the management company, they were polite but unhelpful, saying they couldn’t do anything about it. In the past, when Wild Dunes managed the rentals directl

I booked Wild Dunes Resort through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts expecting a polished, premium stay. What I got instead fell well short of that standard. The resort is inconsistent—some areas are pleasant, but others feel neglected. The main pool area is attractive and has a jacuzzi, but during the day it’s overrun with children, making it impossible to enjoy any peace. The only “adults-only” option was a dirty pool with no jacuzzi, leaving no true luxury space to relax. I was especially glad I didn’t stay on the Boardwalk side—it looked dated, worn, and far less appealing than other parts of the property, and I would have been very disappointed if that had been my view of the resort. The real failure, however, was in the handling of my Amex perks. None of my included benefits were applied
