White Mountain Cottages

Rented a cottage/cabin for two nights through Expedia. Drove 6 hours, in the rain, on motorcycles, tried calling several times during the drive, answering machine stated, "no one can take you call, call back". Upon arrival, there was no one around, not a vehicle or person anywhere on the property. Contacted Expedia, who also tried to contact the office with no luck. Now I'm waiting on a refund, although it states "non-refundable" this is not acceptable when there is NO ONE at the property!!!!! Will NEVER stay there.

My husband and I stayed over night with friends on October 3rd. We booked through the AARP website which had excellent reviews and a reasonable room rate, so we reserved two cottages. The cottages are also centrally located for the restaurants and shopping in town. I have been unable to work out how to leave a review on that website, which I would have liked to have done. The price shown at the time of booking increased by $32 when the final booking was made. AARP Travel seems to be unable or unwilling to address the issue (we are not happy with AARP Travel). We stayed in room 10, which was a duplex. The room was dated, but clean and the bed was very comfortable and there was a big screen T.V. Horrible stay. Location nice convenient but very noisy. very cute looking but don't let that fool you. Very outdated property. Bathroom horrible shower very narrow water doesn't get very hot. Musky smell you can smell mold. Beds are so hard.

The Worst Stay We've Ever Had – Unsafe, Negligent, and Unacceptable I never write bad reviews. I always try to see the good, even in the worst experiences, because I’ve worked in service my whole life and understand how tough it can be. But our stay at White Mountain Cottages was so beyond unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment we arrived, it was a disaster. The floors inside the cottage were wet and waxed, making them incredibly slippery. My partner and I both slipped and got hurt, which should never happen in any accommodation that claims to be safe. The noise levels were unbearable, with no effort made to maintain a quiet environment. But worst of all, there was zero communication from management, and the parking lot was NEVER plowed—despite being in an ar
