Visit Up North Vacation Rentals

My family stayed at their M-22 house in suttons bay summer of 2024, which they no longer service. I accidentally left some clothing behind in a drawer. This company charged me a fee and shipping costs to ship my clothes back to me, which is fine, however they actually shipped disgusting clothing that smelled like it had sat in their lost and found for years (not my clothes). I have called multiple times over the year+ as they said they would refund me the fee and shipping charge for my clothes that were never found or returned. I have yet to be reimbursed and the customer service I received during the phone calls was some of the worst. Maybe a bad review will get their attention.

The Chalet was very clean, well stocked and updated. Very good value for the money. Only issues we encountered were the 97° temperature of the Chalet when we arrived. When we finally were able to contact Jake, we walked us thru turning off the heat and operating the air conditioner with a second remote. So the first issue was resolved in a couple of hours. Second issue was the lack of ability to open the windows. Most were missing the cranks and the ones we were able to open had no screens. Resolving the air conditioner issue solved this one The third issue was the user names and passwords in the book and on the table did not allow access to the TV. We rented at the homestead resort because of all the amenities offered at the resort. Over $1000 for a small 1 bedroom that might be 500 sq feet. Upon arrival we were told by the resort when renting through up north it does not include the use of any of the resort amenities. The unit has patched holes in the walls without paint, door frames in terrible shape, AC in only the living room. They claim this clause about not including the amenities is somewhere buried in the contract but no mention was made at rental signing. Who pays up for a resort and doesn’t want to use the amenities??? The resort now treats us like we don’t belong here, can’t even go the beach because no parking pass either. Overpaid under delivered poor poor experience. Never again!!!!!

Very smooth rental experience. House was better than advertised. We had zero issues, but help was just a phone call away if we did. Also, maids discovered an item we left behind, and it was mailed to me promptly. This was a guys hunting/fishing trip, but my wife loves the area also, and we definitely will be using Visit Up North again

My sister rented a place that was managed by these very rude people. I have a loud car and pulled in the drive where the hideous house they rented was located. You might think of cleaning the outside of the house and properly maintaining it with the extra profits you make with all of the fines you try and impose on peoples credit cards. In any case, the car aggressively downshifts automatically and is rather loud I get it and I’m sorry if someone was sleeping at 7PM. You should really go to your township meetings and have them disallow short term rentals if you are that worried. However, they immediately called, were rude and fined her $ 200 for the excessive noise and told her she would be removed from the property if it happened again while she was there. So... I had her call back
