Customer Reviews
My husband and I went there this past weekend to celebrate our 38th anniversary of first meeting. The Inn is beautiful from the outside and it was already decorated for Halloween. The owners greeted us warmly and gave a history of the Inn. They were clearly proud of all of the work they have put into the restorations and history they had gathered, as they should be. The place was like stepping back in time, but with enough modern conveniences to make you feel comfortable. We were later greeted by the owner's son and daughter-in-law and there sweet dog. We were treated like family. I was even able to eat breakfast there, because they served real food, not processed. And breakfasts were filled with warm conversations. The front porch had rocking chairs that my husband and I sat in each eveni
We had a wonderful overnight stay at this amazing property. Family owned, Bruce, Angie and their son Tyler and his wife Sarah, were wonderful hosts. The Inn is steeped in tradition and staying there is like stepping back in time, but with all the modern amenities. Babe Ruth and Joe Lewis stayed there and they have the sign in registry to prove it! Breakfast was delicious and made to order. We explored the nearby beach and enjoyed the amazing night sky full of stars. It’s only about 20 minutes north of Traverse city and 5 minutes to Old Mission Point Lighthouse. Highly recommended this place!
Stayed two nights and wish we had more time to enjoy this historic Inn and it's surroundings. The setting is peaceful with a pretty water view of the lake. The owners are incredibly kind, friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the history of the Inn and it's prior owners. We had a comfortable stay and enjoyed viewing the carefully chosen antiques around the property and reading stories about past owners. The location is convenient to the peninsula lighthouse, numerous vineyards, and orchards, as well as a short scenic drive to downtown.
Excellent restoration on this more than 150 year old hotel. Decore also fits the Era of the original build. Service is first class. Management treats the guests as if they were part of the family. Gorgeous views and nicely landscaped grounds.
We have had the pleasure over the years of staying at some wonderful inns. I truly believe that our stay at the Old Mission Inn was the best ever. The antiques in this wonderful Inn are a feast for the eyes! The hosts are very proud of this place and it shows when they have the opportunity to tell you the history on all of these fabulous gems. Do not miss the chance to stay here if you are in the area. You will be very pleased!
