A paradise for cross country skiers set in the most beautiful countryside! We had an amazing lesson from Rachel, who was instrumental in getting us quickly started and skiing on the blues within an hour! My daughter and I were literally laughing with joy while skiing their trails, such was the gorgeousness and challenge of the terrain. You also must sample the cafe and be sure to try the grilled cheese. This was one of the best skiing experiences we've ever had!
Excellent XC ski spot! Trails are nice rolling hills through woods - a few downhills too for intermediate level. Very nicely groomed with corduroy and tracks. Nice variety of trails and beautiful woods and open fields. So much better than a golf course! We did a 5 mile trip and it was perfect for a couple hours. They also have ski rentals. And food! Soup and grilled cheese hit the spot after skiing. Super friendly staff too. Highly recommend!
Came here for my first xc skiing experience. Had a lovely lesson with Jane who gave great instruction. All the employees were very knowledgeable, friendly, professional. Trails were in pretty good condition. I'd definitely seek out this place again for my next time out.
Easily one of my favorite places to snowshoe. They're good to their snowshoers here. There are three dedicated trails for it, each bringing a healthy amount of challenge. Navigating some trails can be difficult, but there are also quite a few people around to ask for help. Keep a map with you and perhaps a GPS app as well.
We have many great experiences at Viking (mostly snowshoeing for me) it is an incredibly beautiful place!- But, I wanted to write about my lesson with Rachel- which was my first X-C ski lesson. I'd had a little bit of experience with X-C skiing and alot of anxiety! She broke the motion down into the simplest steps that gradually built on one another so that I could be comfortable with the rhythm and the balance required. We then directly addressed what I was most concerned about- which was how to slow down! I felt much more confident at the end, and I would highly recommend her as an instructor.
