Van Hook Resort

Best place in the world. Great community, beautiful scenery, and some days the lake isn't angry so makes for good fishing. Summers seem to fly by when we spend them at Van Hook! Dawn, Justin & staff are amazing -- visit them in the bait shop! Even if you dont catch any fish they'll make you smile!! Can't say enough good things about this place. The staff works hard to make sure that everyone enjoys their time here. Weekend events, food fair, slip n slide, pork in the park, Halloween parade (in July) -- its spectacular!

I absolutely love it here. The sunset are beautiful and the fishing is amazing. Justin and Dawn have done such an amazing job over the last 10+ years adding so much to the park. So much fun to be had in such an amazing area. Get away and watch the stars at night and sit by the fire.

The view was forever on Lake Sakakawea. This place is very big and electric was my only hookup. Price is reasonable. The facilities where on the far end of this very large spread out park. My space was and end stop and very large. I went there for the view and that was exactly what they gave me. All it's pretty quiet as the main thing there is boating and fishing. Only drawback was dumpsters are the very end of the park so pet waste disposal, you need to put on your walking shoes or drive to it.

Dawn was so helpful and kind. We called super late and even thought it was after hours she somehow picked up and helped us grab a primitive site to park our van. Opened the door in the morning to find our site was right next to the lake. Beautiful views, friendly staff. Wish we were staying more than just a night.

I love this place! The people at the bait shop are always friendly ! I recently had an issue and they were quick on it, to get it solved! Always a good experience when I go!
