Customer Reviews
The accommodations are cozy, the view is excellent, and the family is very nice. However, verify your rate at booking. The website is not reflecting the current rental rate and you will be charged the “updated” rate. Disappointing as this is not the first time this has happened to us. When it was brought to the attention of the owner, the response was that the website should have been updated. Still has 2024 rates for cabins and 2023 for campsites.
Our family had a wonderful time having some family quality time at this resort. Our family’s stayed in cabins 2 which has a fridge, stove, microwave, hot water, shower, toilet, 2 bedroom rooms with full size beds and window ac unit! We also had cabin 4 which has had some remodeling to the bathroom and exterior (siding/windows) also has a fridge, stove, microwave, hot water, shower, toilet, three bedrooms with full beds and a window AC unit. Beautiful front door view of the lake. Loved the screened in pouch. Quiet and very private. Great fishing. Will definitely return in the future.
Beautiful lake is spring fed, clean, not crowded and excellent fishing. Very few water ski boats so nice and serene. Bald eagles and loons are lovely. Cabins have charm and #3 is an original log cabin. Family run so friendly but not intrusive. Not fancy or modern but comfortable with gorgeous views on the water.
The cabins are always neat and clean very cozy. Pretty well everything you need to stay awhile. The owners bend over backwards to make your stay enjoyable. The lake is gorgeous, especially at sunset! Our family LOVES this place!😍
My family enjoyed many trips to Valhalla during the early twentieth century. My last trip was probably in1953. The Grotnes family built the place. The entrance had an arch with a log that Mr. Grotnes claimed was bent over Paul Bunyan's knee. One of the things I remember was each cabin had an 'ice box' that was filled with ice blocks taken from the lake during the winter and stored in an icehouse. The main house had electricity, I think, but the cabins were very basic. Found memories.
