Beautiful place, but couldn’t find the campground, just a picnic area.
Every turn was more breathtaking than the previous.
Trailhead is right by. We enjoyed our hike. The picnic tables are down by the water.
This trail head allows you to hike on the ice fissure trail and the Lower piedra trail. I have yet to all of lower piedra(about 12 miles in total) but the portion of it I have done are beautiful. Easy climbing access for some various sport routes. The ice fissure trail is a bunch of fun and allows for personal exploration in the ice fissure that gauge the earth just off to the side of trail. Great area to picnic as well with picnic tables down by the river close to the trailhead.
Takes a long time to get there cuz it's off the beaten path. Road to the campground is terrible. Left after one day cuz it just wasn't a good place to camp.
