High Creek Lodge & Cabins

Recommendation: Don't stay there unless you have to. The price for the small room was much higher than advertised on google. When I arrived they told me to "give the door a shove" to open it. I really had to hit it like a linebacker charging into the offensive line. Got in, walls were thin. Could hear a couple next door like they were right next to me. "What did you say?". "I said- turn up your hearing aid!". Asked to be moved to a different room and they said they couldn't, but they could cancel my room with a full refund. I asked for a referral to another hotel. No answer. Called another hotel, all booked up. Decided to endure because there was a lot of snow and I didn't want to drive over that mountain. Got back from dinner, went to sleep, in spite of the bright light coming in through

Kind and fast response. Also, the room was clean and big.

Zero Stars – Absolutely Terrible Experience If you’re headed to Pagosa Springs, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. I booked what was listed online as a “standard queen” room. I have stayed in many standard queen rooms before — this was nothing close to standard. The room was so unbelievably small there were maybe 12 inches of space around the queen-sized bed. There was no dresser, no luggage rack, no closet space — absolutely nowhere to put bags or personal belongings. The only option was to stack everything on the floor and tuck it as close to the bed as possible just to be able to walk around. I have never been in jail, but I imagine a cell would be more spacious and accommodating than this room. The shower was another disappointment. It never got hot — only lukewarm

Don’t stay here if you want to sleep. Cute rooms and well appointed. But walls are paper thin, window curtains are basically sheer and do not block the bright lights outside the rooms. The people above us must have been rearranging furniture, bowling or performing a ritual sacrifice because the incessant stomping, pounding and banging through the thin ceiling went on for hours, well into the “quiet hours” per hotel policy. Despite my requests for management to kindly remind our upstairs neighbors to be mindful of those below them, the noise persisted. Some throw rugs on the bare floors would help with noise, and warmth. Breakfast was nice but most of the food was cold. This was not an inexpensive room. But our experience was more aligned with a cheap hotel.

Loved this place! The deluxe room was so spacious with so many amenities. It had everything we needed and then some. You can tell they put a lot of thought, effort, and time into the place. Even the bedding and towels were really nice. Loved the swing set, sporting goods, hiking trail, and hot tubs. Great service - We have a baby so they prioritized cleaning our room to let us check in early for naptime. Much appreciated, thank you! Really cool place. Wish there were more like this in other mountain towns!
