Upper Log Campground

Upper log is quite an escape from the heat. Beautiful stream runs along the campgrounds and has a decent trout population for fishing in. Water levels have depleted over the years, but regardless, that does not take away from the stunning forest ambiance. Whispering pines, with warmer days and cold nights. Can be susceptible to flooding but equipped with a flash flooding alarm system to warn campers. In the Upper log campgrounds there is definitely a larger bee population than observed at lower log campgrounds, however lower log campgrounds tend to get overcrowded during camping months.

Amazing place love camping here. The fishing is good the people are nice and they have portajohns for bathrooms which is a plus out here.

I recently went to Upper Log Creek with my kids and told a couple coworkers about it, who brought their family and trailers up. On the first day, an old beat up red pick up started driving by me and my friends constantly. A guy got out and started lecturing my coworker’s juvenile son that his puppy needed to be on a leash and that he was going to go tell the “game warden” and the game warden would shoot the dog on the spot if it “barked at him.” Turned out the guy in the red pick up is some “camp host” from a half mile down the road. However, nowhere on the website nor the signs when you cross the first bridge it says you must check in with the “Camp Host” or have any affiliation with him. If this is an expectation, it should be mentioned somewhere and/or the camp host, like at other lo
