We were in Ft Lauderdale a day early for an upcoming cruise. We made the mistake of booking the wrong Tru location but, in my opinion, it turned out for the best. This location is walkable to Las Olas Boulevard. Excellent restaurant, Laudy Bar, is a 5 minute walk away.|(Our cruise companions said they booked Tru. We later realized they were staying at the location by the FLL airport/Dania Beach).||The room is clean, but basic. There is no closet but a metal bar with hangers. It wasn't a big deal because we didn't need to unpack. If you have longer items to hang, they may touch the countertop below which housed the refrigerator/cooler. Having a fridge/cooler is always a plus. Cold water FTW!|The room is small. My husband and I each had larger suitcases and there wasn't a great pla

I recently had the misfortune of staying in a king Room 8th floor at Tru by Hilton Hotel in Fort Lauderdale Downtown and it was an unmitigated disaster, From the moment I entered the room, I knew something was off. The floor was filthy , and after walking from the shower to the bed , the bottoms of our feet were black with grime. The shampoo provided smelled like alcohol and burned my skin, it had the consistency of hand sanitizer. The bed was equally uninviting, with hairs on the pillows and sheets that reeked of stale sweat. The entire room smelled musty. When I reached out to room service to report these issues, they claimed the cleaning crew had left for the day and they suggested that we move rooms or we could make the bed ourselves. We decided to make the bed ourselves if they would

The location is convenient, about a 15-minute walk to Las Olas Boulevard. The room was spacious, which was a plus. The gym was okay for a basic workout but nothing special. It’s quite old, with three older treadmills, three ellipticals, one lower-body machine, and very limited space for weights. The gym is connected to the laundromat, so it was quite hot inside. Self-service laundry is a useful feature. Breakfast was simple and basic. However, the bedding felt synthetic and worn, and the pillows looked old. Only two paper cups were provided. The hand soap and shower gel ran out on the second day. The shower was disappointing — weak water pressure and fluctuating hot water made it uncomfortable. Overall, it’s fine for a short stay, mainly because of the location and room size, but it co

⭐️ 1 Star — Extremely Disappointing Customer Service My experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I made my reservation through Booking.com, understanding that they would coordinate directly with the hotel regarding any reservation changes. Unfortunately, severe weather conditions prevented me from traveling — something completely outside of my control. I immediately contacted Booking.com, and they provided proof that they formally requested a date change from the hotel. However, they never received any response from the hotel manager. Booking then advised me to contact the hotel directly. When I spoke with the manager, I was told that no communication had been received. To confirm this, I called Booking customer service again, and while I was on the phone with them, they

Room was excellent and clean, everything operating perfectly (TV, AC, shower, lights, etc.). Front desk was polite and helpful, I did ask for a high floor and was given the lowest possible floor with guest rooms, parking garage was empty so I’m sure there were high rooms (it’s 19 stories I believe). I could have pressed the issue but it was late so I won’t ding them for that. Pool deck on the 5th looked very nice though we didn’t use it. Parking garage was tight but clean and plenty of spaces on a Saturday night. Very reasonable rate, we booked ahead online. While technically downtown, it’s a ways from the central district, maybe too far to walk. We also passed a gathering of what appeared to be homeless on the corner a block from the property, perhaps that’s normal in Fort Lauderda
