Travelodge by Wyndham Santee

Our room was 1/2 clean, with smudged mirrors and 1/2 clean counter tops. The shower head dripped all night and made the bathroom floor wet. Ac/heat was tough to regulate and was loud. The office person did not know too much when we asked questions about deposits and cash or CC rates. The free breakfast...don't even bother. The office member that morning couldn't have enough coffee ready for guests let alone syrup for pancakes. I saw another guest looking in closets for more breakfast supplies. We were able to sleep and shower! Not worth it!

I want to start out with saying we were a late arrival. (A call was made to the hotel earlier to confirm our reservation and inform them of the arrival time). The hotel front was dimly lit. I was greeted by staff member through a glass passthrough in the lobby door. This required me to stand outside in a barely lit courtyard while we exchanged info. The property looked like it was in some type of renovation due to piles of equipment at the back end of property. As we pulled up to our room, we encountered people hanging out in front of our room and more people “hanging out” a couple doors down. It was after midnight. Gross. The room had an extremely dirty air conditioner. The bathroom was filthy and the dirty sheets with burn holes. How does this place represent Wyndham?

This was everything we could’ve wanted for an overnight rest along a journey up I-95. The check-in room was painted a cheery blue color and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed and a perfectly warm and strong pressured shower. Exactly what a tired body needs. There was also a microwave and mini fridge that we need not need but would be useful. We enjoyed cereal, waffles, bananas, and OJ in the morning to fuel up for the road. It was my first two day road trip with a toddler and a baby and I’m very satisfied with the experience.
