Travelodge by Wyndham East Portland/Gresham

The building is very much showing its age. Most of the older staff is quite capable. The younger staff, they are leaving much to be deserved. But that's true in most business. The restaurants that are attached have been closed since the beginning of COVID, so if you're hoping for any service you're going to need to look elsewhere. Late night front desk is sparse, but there is 11:00 a.m. housekeeping. And you can get reservations through third-party services, but you are going to want to ensure you discuss all of it with front desk staff in case of any sort of miscommunication. Remember to recognize that this is a two-star hotel.

Nice and clean rooms, friendly staff, it's a little hard to find the entrance because it's off to the side and attached to the bar. Not very clearly marked either, but it's off to the left. Breakfast is coffee, so no frills. There is a laundry on site as well. Overall, not a bad place.

Positive: Absolutely the location, across from Walmart and a bunch of restaurants. 5 minutes from McMenamins winery and lodge, which we love and had friend stay there. IThe price was excellent. Negative: It wasn't fancy or glamorous, but our main thing this time was a place to sleep. We were very busy with friends and really we have no complaints.

Decent location right off I84. Close to a gas station, bar and grill, coffee shop, Walmart. Dark entrance outside, so walk carefully. Small lobby with big plants that make the walking area even smaller. Vending machine only takes cash. Upon getting to room the door wasn't completely closed and light was on. Checking room nobody was inside. Room was clean, no bed bugs. Carpets and flooring didn't match at all. TV didn't have the greatest of things to watch. Walls are very thin, could hear neighbors doing more than just talking ... makes for a long night. Room had a fridge, microwave, desk and chair, shower only, no hairdryer, had coffee maker, cups. A couple bathroom necessities. I grabbed my taser and mace from my car in my way back from eating. Not worth the $$.

I’m warning anyone that thinks of staying here..maybe for a concert at McMenamins Edgefield? We paid $120 for a room that was so filthy! It smelled of fifty years of smoke!! It took four washings to get that smell out of my hair! In addition, the room was so outdated. The WiFi was horrible, tv old and blurry and the room was dirty with sticky surfaces. there were cigarette burn marks in the nightstand drawer..not sure if they were “cigarette” burns. The queen size bed was uncomfortable and more like a full size..we barely fit. I’ve never felt so dirty in my life after staying at a hotel. We would NEVER stay here again and will warn others not to stay here. It’s worth no more than $50/night to reflect the fact it probably hasnt been thoroughly cleaned or updated in over 50 years.
