Travelers Lodge Beatrice

We got this motel through a pay ahead online service, so there was no turning back unless we wanted to lose our money. We were immediately turned off by a row of video lottery machines in the crowded office/lobby. We were assigned a second story room, and there was trash around the stairs. We had requested a king bed, and the man at the front desk said they had no king rooms left, but did offer a room with three beds in it, which we accepted. It had a king and two other beds. Two of the three lamps did not work. The room was generally shabby., but clean. Soap was provided, but no other toiletries. The carpet seemed fairly new. No coffee maker in room. Breakfast was three sugar sweetened cereals and a bagel. On the positive side, we saw no evidence of insect activity or rodent activity.

Reserve online and the pictures look great. Pull in and it is a run down rent by the week motel. First room they put me in hadn't been cleaned in almost a month because I found receipts from the person who stayed there. Holes in the walls, mouse poop in the drawers, dead bugs in the night stand drawer, mold and mildew in the bathtub/shower, mirror isn't a mirror anymore it is flaking off, spills and can rings from whoever was there last, stains on the towels and bedding. Manager said he had never seen that but you could tell he was lying. Second room towels were stained so we bought our own towels. Room smell so bought air freshener. Hallways you could barely get up since the other residents crap in the hallway. Empty beer bottles and cans left all over. Fire extinguishers expired and smo

First impression was a cockroach on entertainment center. Hole in the wall in the bathroom and paint peeling on the ceiling. Had to share a wash cloth because we used the other on the cockroach guts after I killed it. Pack your own toiletries you'll need it.

On the plus side the ice machine worked good and the guest laundry appeared to function. As far as the rest of the facility it is in pretty sorry condition. Weeds growing through the parking lot, peeling paint inside and out with trash piled high beside the dumpsters.

Meh.... there is a lack of communication and sometimes rude individualsworking the front desk.Ivending machine does not work, and probably never will by the sounds of it. I would like to also add that they change the rates daily which is absurd. This location is far from being a Baymont or Days Inn, however, the people coming and going reflect this motel's ability to charge as much. Mostly construction type workers around there. I will say the cleaning lady (staffs mother) is attentive & friendly. I personally would take my business elsewhere for an extra $20, and get a nice breakfast.
