Trailside Inn

Came into town late at night and was able to rent a room. Got into our room and the smell was overpowering. Quickly figured out it was an old air wick plug in so we unplugged it immediately and let the room air out. The next day, it wasn’t as bad. Much older hotel but it’s a small town so that was expected. The toilets are short and small and ours ran for about 15 minutes after each flush. The beds aren’t the best but will work in a pinch. Location is pretty central in town. Parking is good but the big work trucks like to double park and take up all the spaces (not the hotels fault), just be prepared to possibly find alternate parking. They are also extremely loud around 6:00 am. They do have a nice patio sitting area on the balcony and down by the parking lot. And housekeeping was friendl

Positive: Staff was very nice and attentive. Negative: Rooms smell like an old motel, dingy or just old? Smell was too much for me. Heater was super loud every time it turned in and off and did not let me sleep all night.

I book rooms for the company that I'm employed with. We have stayed at the Trailside for many months with multiple rooms. The staff is very accommodating. Sometimes we have to cancel or check out early because we are a construction company, and the schedule changes from week to week. They are very understanding to our situation. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are clean. If in Alturas, I highly recommend staying at the Trailside Inn.

This convenient motel has had an excellent refresh and our room (215) was newly remodeled with new fixtures. The pool was refreshing and clean. The 2 beds, doubles which might be a bit narrow for 2 people, were comfortable. There's a microwave & fridge, table & chairs, bedside tables with good light and a TV. The included breakfast was very good and besides the waffles and biscuits & gravy included a heat-&-eat breakfast bagel. The staff was very friendly and attentive. You're located in the middle of a downtown that has seen better days, but you can walk all of Main Street and imagine what once was.

I recently stayed at the Trailside Inn for two weeks, and had an amazing experience! The inn is cozy, beautifully maintained, and set in a lovely location. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. A heartfelt thanks to the manager, Kevin, who went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. All the staff have been wonderful, but I must say, he's a big driving force behind the magic of this place!. His genuine care and attention to detail truly made a difference and made me feel right at home. His passion for this place shines through in everything he does! If you're looking for a place that feels incredibly welcoming, I highly recommend the Trailside Inn! 🌟
