Pepperdine Equestrian Campground

Great horse camp with corrals, water, picnic benches, and bbqs. First come, first served, so bring cash or check for the drop box. Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. A short walk up to the ridge and you can watch the sun come up while drinking your coffee. There is only one trail, Summit Trail, but it is 30 miles long so you can do out and back as far as you want. It is beautiful with many differences in terrain and vista. There is a little bit of a connection in the camp so you could at least send a text in case of emergency. In some places like higher on the ridges you can connect to the internet, but that's not what camping is about anyway. Important. Do not rely on GPS to get around this area! Follow the directions from the forest service website, as they are the safest for horse trail

My family ran the deer camp here. This trip was bittersweet as we spread my mother's ashes in the meadow.

Like it better than the upper Campground, it was still blocked by snow.

Beautiful campground. Short hike to the falls. Great experience.
