TownePlace Suites by Marriott Fort Lauderdale West

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was super clean, and you can really tell how much care goes into maintaining the property. The breakfast was amazing, with great quality and variety. Room service was on top of their game and always fast, efficient, and friendly. I also had the pleasure of meeting the housekeeping supervisor, and she was incredibly kind and welcoming. Overall, all of the staff were very nice, attentive, and professional, which made the experience even better. I would absolutely recommend staying here and would happily return.

I stayed at this hotel last week and my experience was excellent. I would like to especially highlight the kind and professional service provided by the housekeeping supervisor, Giannes, as well as the entire housekeeping staff. The hotel atmosphere was very pleasant, with a sense of calm and good organization at all times. The room exceeded my expectations in terms of cleanliness, it was spotless and very well maintained, which made my stay even more comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and congratulate the housekeeping team for their outstanding work.

Prior to arriving, I read reviews on the property which had me extremely nervous to stay, although it would only be for two nights. The check-in process was very easy. The front desk staff checking in was very nice. When we got up to the room, we were relieved to find a very clean room, bathroom, and kitchenette area. The hallway did not smell as some reviews indicated. The trip was too near to cancel so I even brought cleaning wipes and a candle for our room as the reviews made me feel like we would need both. We did not need either, thankfully. Breakfast staff was very attentive and friendly and made sure the breakfast items remained stock as fast as they could. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and it was honestly frightening.||I was placed in Room 115, which was in a state of serious neglect. The bathroom dispensers were completely empty, forcing me to call for help while in the middle of a shower. That alone was frustrating—but it quickly got worse.||The suite door had obvious pry marks and damage, and then it malfunctioned and trapped me inside the room for about 30 minutes. This was terrifying. After security finally arrived, I was told the bedroom door could not be locked at all, leaving me with zero privacy and no sense of safety. For being a Marriott property, it was not up to our numerous stays with Marriott brand in the past. Most of the staff were pleasant and tried to be accommodating, but some were gruff, as we heard with other guests present or on the phone. The rooms were nice, however the door lock was not in working order, room service unaccommodating when we asked for extra pillows or towels for our party of 4, and elevator repairs being done. It seems like the property was in need of upgrades and repairs. Not our best experience with Marriott.
