TownePlace Suites by Marriott East Lansing

Great location to the pavilion. Rooms could use some updating. But what makes this place amazing is Josh at the front desk. He is so friendly, helpful, patient, accommodating… all of the positive adjectives. I can’t say enough good things about the customer service he provides.

I didn’t personally stay at the hotel, but my girlfriend did and one night, she wasn’t feeling well and was feeling nauseous. Since I wasn’t there with her, I called the front desk to ask if they could bring some ginger ale to her room to help her feel better. I spoke with Alexis, who not only said they could take care of it, but also insisted on covering it—despite me being more than willing to pay. Although I haven’t stayed here myself yet, the kindness and outstanding customer service shown by Alexis definitely made an impression. I’ll absolutely be booking a stay here in the future—thanks again, Alexis!

A friend and I traveled from Buffalo to East Lansing to see a production at the Wharton Center. We chose the TownePlace Suites because of their great customer reviews and proximity to the venue. We were able to check in early (which was amazing after being on the road for 6 hours by the time we arrived) and found our room to be clean and fully-stocked for a long stay. The kitchenette was great and came equipped with plates and glasses that were essential for our quick lunch and dinner in the room before and between shows. The hotel was quiet overall and we were not disturbed in our stay in the least. The only complaint I had was not having a full-length mirror anywhere in the room - even one more mirror outside of the bathroom would have been nice since two women sharing one small bathroom

Really great check-in experience with our cat after being denied from another hotel after a 10+ hour drive and scrambling to find somewhere to stay. I didn’t get her name but the front desk agent made our day after a stressful moment. They were so welcoming and we will for sure become local customers now!!

Oh, do I have SO much to say. What a surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It's so random! I was in East Lansing for a work trip for about a week and a half, and this place ended up being such a comfortable little home base. Yeah, it's on the older side and the carpet smells a bit mildewy (like any hotel with carpet). But the bed was great, the pillows were great, the shower was comfy, and the kitchen was surprisingly great. Except for the occasional sticky/dirty cooking utensil. Blegh. The air conditioning was solid even though it was an older model. It actually stayed on all night (which I can’t say for a lot of newer hotels where it shuts off to "save energy" and the room gets so hot). On to the staff. I couldn't have loved them more.
