TownePlace Suites by Marriott Charleston-West Ashley

Nobody likes to read a three-star review but I would like to share both the good and the bad . The good is that the hotel in general and the public areas are well designed and clean. The location is great. The hotel is quiet except apparently for the people staying below us. More on that later. These positives are partially offset by the three negatives. First, the maintenance in our room was substandard. There were at least five issues in the bathroom of our unit. A previous leak in the ceiling had not been repaired, but rather painted over. Neither of the toilet paper dispensers were properly attached. There was no conditioner in the pump unit when we arrived. It wasn't great. I'm sure that management will suggest that we could have switched rooms but why is that the guest's responsibi

A warm stay because of a great front desk person named, Chandler! She was on top of everything, doing it all with little help & still with a great attitude. We checked into our room & the heat kept coming on it made us very uncomfortable. She addressed it quickly & resolved the issue & made the stay even better. We will be back & will share with others so they can come stay at this lovely hotel.

This was my first time staying at the Townplace Suites of West Ashley/Charleston. I will say that the rooms are very spacious and top notch clean. I had my elderly mother and aunt with me and the staff there took such great care of them and Chandler even helped us with our luggage and guided my mom to her room. She really went above and beyond her duties. Everyone there was helpful and friendly. I will be back again as my daughter lives close by. Thanks for the perfect stay.

I would like to compliment Chandler for helping make my daughter and my stay at the Town Place Suites by Marriott in Charleston West Ashely a very pleasant experience. We checked in on Nov 28th traveling from Florida. Our room we found out quickly that the heat was not working and it was very cold. Chandler kindly after I called down to the desk said we will move you to another room on the same floor. We moved and after being in the room for about 10 min it was evident that the heat was not working in this room. This young lady was so professional and when I called and said we can't stay in this room , she immediately said of course you cannot. She got us on the same floor in 2 bedroom suite and said the price will not change for your stay. The minute we walked into this room after

Positive: Looking beyond the car break-ins, hotel itself was very comfortable and clean. Although location seemed safe, it has easy access for parking lot criminal activity. Front desk personnel very nice, but they don't monitor parking lot. Negative: Multiple car break-ins.Was expecting more security from Marriott than average hotel chain.My car/5 others broken into last night (9-11 Apr) of stay.2nd time in few weeks. No parking lot security. No comp from Marriott. No intention to add security.
