TownePlace Suites by Marriott Albuquerque Old Town

After reading the reviews I was hesitant to book. However some of it I agree with and some of it I don’t. The water in the shower is too much unless you select the largest fan stream.. which was easy enough to do. The walls are indeed thin. I could hear every word the neighbors spoke. The neighborhood isn’t one I would feel safe walking around at night… but doesn’t that describe most of Albuquerque? So the good news is that there is a nice bar/restaurant literally 100 steps from the side door. Clean and kind and safe and all that. The price here was low using points and the people working here were very kind and helpful. Would I stay here again? Sure. If you are using Marriott points it was a good deal. If you are paying cash I’d suggest the Best Western Plus Rio Grande nearby. Sam

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I would strongly suggest finding any other hotel in Albuquerque. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.||I have stayed at Marriott properties over 500 times and more than 60 times this year alone. I share this to establish that I know what to expect from these hotels. Like other negative reviews, I must say the management of this hotel is shady and unprofessional, especially Julie T., the Director of Sales (I am withholding her last name to remain professional). She does not support her staff and hides in her office instead of having conversations with guests.||While the staff brags about the property being "new," the rooms are already tired and poorly maintained. Very clean! Kind and helpful staff. Accommodated for late check out. Quiet. For someone looking for an affordable hotel, this works really well. I think it deserves 5 stars for what I was expecting.

Hello, my name is Ryan G and I recently stayed at this hotel for a night. I chose this hotel because you accommodated a very flexible standard to dogs. I have three large dogs and they are hard to handle. The staff was extremely pleasant when I arrived and offered anything they could to help in the handling of my dogs. I had driven 11 hours and had bad experiences with other hotels previously before showing up to this one and had nothing but bad luck in terms of my animals and terrible staffing, but this location was a breath of fresh air. In particular, the young lady named Jade at the front desk was very sweet and very accommodating to my situation. She was very professional and polite. The good : front desk was friendly, rooms were a good size, beds were comfy. You get a fridge, sink, stove and kitchenware. The bad : the bathroom really needs updating. The shower curtains are so old and the shower head was either spraying a mist on you or pummeling you with water. The doors are so loud no matter how careful you are opening them so everybody wakes up. I would probably not do more than one night here.
