Town House Motel

Literally the worst dump I've ever stayed at. The front desk girl left after I checked in at 4pm. My room stank of cigarettes and Lord knows what else. No toilet paper in the room. No wifi. Sleeping in your car is a better option.

Positive: Townhouse is an older, drive-up-to-the-room style motel in downtown Rapid City. Great towels, safe location, and relatively quiet rooms (law enforcement offices right across the street!). Negative: The room I had, #101, lacks a rack and hooks for hanging clothes or towels. I'm not keen on aerator fixtures on bathroom faucets - this one sprayed all over the place.

This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed. We waited almost 30 minutes to check in, the carpet felt like something was spilled and not cleaned up. The so called breakfast was never provided because they couldn't bother to have an employee actually working and we never saw a housekeeper , We had 1 roll of toilet paper for a 5 day stay with 4 people.

My friend and I booked three nights, but left after the first one (of course, we still had to pay for all three). We have traveled the world and stayed in many types of accommodations, but this one felt too unsafe to risk staying for three nights. ||Although we set our arrival time around 8PM, we were texted earlier in the day asking if we could check in independently. We agreed and they texted us a lock code for a box. When we showed up around our expected time, the key was locked in the mailbox, which would have been fine if it was the only one. There were, however, three or four envelops containing room keys and papers with personal information (from the receipt). Positive: The staff was very friendly. Negative: The room wasn't cleaned completely before we checked in. There was still food in the fridge and the microwave was dirty. The flooring was ripped under one of the beds. Part of the bed was broken. The bathroom had no door. The room smelled like mold.
