South Beach Unit of Sheridan Lake Campground

By far, this campground is one one the most peaceful spots we have ever camped. The view from out lot was gorgeous and the surrounding trees and nature made this an amazing vacation. It’s about 20 minutes from Mount Rushmore and very close to Hill City. The only bad thing, for us, was that the park doesn’t have a dump station to empty and rinse your tanks and the beach had a lot of geese droppings. I usually don’t mind that but, the droppings were everywhere. To clean and empty our tanks, we went to the Three Forks Campground and used their dump station. You’ll have to pay $15.

Quiet and peaceful place to camp. Camping hosts awesome!

Bathrooms could be cleaner and more updated. Camp fire ring needed cleaned out. Friendly staff. Beautiful views.

Great lake and clean camp as well. Shower house was clean and had warm water.
