Tillis Hill Recreation Area

Wow! This our first time camping here in the Tillis Hill Recreation area forest. So incredibly peaceful. The sound of the air moving through the trees, the abundance of birds singing was wonderful. We slept with our windows open and the cool air smelled fresh and sweet. It was fun hearing and seeing the horses. The campground is well maintained and very relaxing. We loved it.

This is the State Park campground it's very clean and the lots are good sized. This is a Horse Campground there are many horses here apparently they don't like electric bikes around their horses and when I say around I mean like a half a mile away! I get it that some horses are skittish, but I didn't even have a motor on when I went over to the Corral to see the horses and I was told to leave buy some other lady there because they didn't like the bikes

A Saturday morning in February and there was ample parking for the 4 horse trailer. The blue to pink trail had beautiful forest and a few challenges for my big thoughrobred.

This campground is isolated and quiet. It’s not very large, but has hook ups for RVs as well as tent camping. The weather was amazing. I would definitely visit there again!!

A quiet well kept, gated campground. There is a large stable which is well kept and does not smell. Weekends you will find off roaders and thier vehicles, weekdays it is mostly empty. Lots of hiking, wildlife, birds, and quiet. No swimming, fishing, or boating for miles. Mountain biking on flat trails. Some of the campsites are impossible to level but they are addressing this.
