Thunderbird Lodge

Driving in was a little sketchy and we knew very little about the area. The room was lovely perfect. The area was magnificent. Seeing the sights around the rim was spectacular. The feeling we got was awesome no crowds. The people were kind and helpful. We did the tour to the bottom of canyon and it was well worth it. A little out of our way but no regrets. ||Cafeteria was good not great not bad but perfect for what we needed for our 2 day stay. Breakfast was great actually. I would recommend this to everyone.

What a beautiful serene place to visit, and welcomed with the cedar. All the buildings are pretty. The room was very cozy. We liked the tiles of the bathroom. It was so quiet and peaceful, and the surroundings are stunning. We also had breakfast at the Thunderbird Café, which was really tasty. The burgers and the onion rings got us through the day. We want to come back.

The architecture alone is worth the trip. Located within canyon de chelly. The rooms are large. Old fixtures in bath. Responsive staff. Noisy but decent heat and aircon. It’s a lovely spot. We were in room 18. End unit.

Positive: Location is perfect and wonderfully historic. It is like a step back in time. Negative: The Cafeteria food was like a school lunch.

Our company booked us here to accommodate business, and it has been simply amazing! They offer generous sized rooms. It is very peaceful when you want it. Their Diner serves delicious food. Unfortunately, I haven't the time to enjoy it all, such as taking a tour on the trails and more!
