The White Sands Oceanfront Hotel & Spa

Haven’t been here in a long time. Heard it had gotten better. No such luck. Very disappointing. The best thing I can say is that the room was clean. The beds were rock hard and the atmosphere dismal and dark. No hot water for the shower. The worst part was the outdoor pools. The pools themselves were clean however the chairs were old and dirty and the whole outdoor area looked worn out. Needed a paint job and a power washing. Not inviting. Pool towels thin and shabby looking. The staff are friendly and helpful. This place has seen better days. No maid service unless you paid extra for it.

The White Sands was the hotel for our wedding weekend and we had an amazing experience! They were so helpful in keeping track of the room block, and ensured we had everything we needed leading up to the weekend. The honeymoon suite was perfect for us, giving us a large space and a romantic room for our wedding night. My husband and his groomsmen also got ready in The Studio, their exclusive wedding lounge. It was a beautiful space and gave them room to get ready and hang out before the ceremony, inclusive of apps and beer buckets. I'm so glad we decided to book the space, and I highly recommend it for either side of the bridal party to get ready! This 3 star hotel is definitely better than most beachfront hotels. Great access to the beach and pool are clean. For families, crib was free but having a sink outside the bathroom is not easy when little ones are sleeping. Regardless, the room is clean enough and I just wish the carpet was retired. The third floor hallway carpet is stained throughout and I think the cleaning staff only uses a wireless Dyson. Also big downside is you pay an extra$25 for your bed being made daily! They only change your towels and trash. I still had a great time and you come here to enjoy the beach anyway! Big plus, you can see Thursday night fireworks right outside the hotel lobby!

I was somewhat disappointed, and I have stayed here many times.|They don't "make up"(make the beds, clean up etc )|the room anymore (you have to PAY extra for that) and I had to ask|them to come by and take the old towels and give me new ones. This was|very disappointing. |They don't have the complimentary breakfast anymore. Even the Hampton|inn that charges 1/2 the price for a room always have something.|They don't have coffee or anything in the lobby. I said|do you have hot water even, and she said yes but you need your own cup.|I found DEFICATION in the morning on the men's room bathroom floor in the Main buildings bathroom it was disgusting.|I was not even asked how my stay was when I checked out.|Some positives. Pool, housekeeping & maintenance staff all top notch. Front desk not so much. I booked a King room and my confirmation (which I showed them) said balcony and view. They said that I was booked in a standard King & bkz I booked third party it wasn’t their problem & I would have to straighten it out with Trip.com….wrong answer…Our room was the size of a walk in closet..it reeked of mildew and the bathroom was so small my 6’ husband had to sit sideways on the T-seat….Entry Door didn’t seal closed so flies came in. I looked at the hotel’s own website and even what they advertise as a “standard king” isn’t anything like the room itself. So just be aware that the rooms you see pictures are not the rooms you get AT ALL. Disappointing they wouldn’t make it right.
