The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and it was by far the highlight of the trip. We didn’t realize how lackluster the hotels we stayed at on Oahu and the Big Island were until we got here. We heard from a local that some hotels, like the Westin, reinvested in their properties during covid when things were down and it makes sense. It goes without saying that the property and its grounds are beautiful. We appreciated direct beach access and adult-only pools and hot tubs. Our room was upgraded upon check in and it seemed to have been newly renovated and fresh. Plenty of dining options, but our favorite was the outdoor bar (Hale Mo’olelo). They offered happy hour every day, the food was great, reasonably priced for a hotel ($9 for a domestic beer vs $12 at the Hilton we stayed

Positive: We really enjoyed our stay. The pool area is amazing and we spent a lot of time there. The location is excellent, with Whalers Village right next to the hotel and lots of food options. Overall, it was great value for the money we paid. Negative: The rooms were average, and there was a persistent sewer smell coming from the shower that was not resolved despite multiple complaints.

The location of this hotel is perfect for spending time on the Ka'anapali Beach side (almost like Waikiki Beach vibe except on a chill level). Immediately when we arrived, the valet service asked to assist with our bags, they were awesome. The atmosphere was really popping when we arrived, they had Hawaiian music playing, hula dancers and it was really festive and decorated beautifully for Christmas. When we entered near the reception desk, we were greeted by our Hokupa'a representative who walked us to the Lana'i experience private registration area. If you are staying at the hotel, the Hokupa'a Tower is the best experience and make sure your room includes the "Lana'i Experience" as it means your own private lounge and experience with bites at breakfast & dinner along with unlimited snack

We had an incredible 4 nights here! We stayed in the Hōkūpaʻa Tower and the rooms were spacious and modern, with a great view of the beach. The pool was fantastic, with lots of areas to spread out. One day we ordered lunch by the pool, and the lobster roll sandwich was delicious. The hotel had a fun energy, with people of all ages, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. We look forward to our next visit!

We recently stayed at the Westin Maui and had a mix of positives and frustrations. The staff and housekeeping team were wonderful and friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. The property is beautiful, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the location next to Whalers Village and several great restaurants is hard to beat. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the noise level. My wife is pregnant and our only request was a quiet room, but there was a large group of guests on our floor partying late into the night on multiple nights. There was constant hallway noise, loud voices, and doors being slammed well past 1:00 am. I understand that some noise is normal at hotels, but this was excessive.
