Customer Reviews
The Vermont House was outstanding. Aesthetically it is beautiful—the owners have woven modern comforts into the property while faithfully retaining its 1850s charm, making it welcoming, cozy, and comfortable. The location is also superb—free parking across the street and walking distance to all of the wonderful things downtown Wilmington has to offer. Our contact for the inn, Haley, was beyond helpful, accommodating, and so kind, and we appreciate it beyond measure. While this was a couples’ leisure getaway, I travel for work and spend more nights in hotels than at home, and I can truly say that The Vermont House is one of the neatest and most charming properties in which I have been fortunate enough to stay. Thank you so much for having us—we can’t wait to come back!
This adorable place looks like something from a hallmark movie! The host was attentive, rooms were clean, and check in was a breeze. We found parking right outside of the building. My only issue with our stay (and this is entirely out of their control) was the noise and vibration from tractor trailer trucks. The building sits very close to the road and every time a truck drove through, which happened all night, the entire building shook and it was very loud. I’m a light sleeper so I unfortunately didn’t get much sleep even though the beds were comfortable.
We booked one room here this past week. We had driven through Wilmington several years ago and thought it looked like a cute town to visit. So as we were headed home from being on vacation we decided to stop for an overnight. When we got there around 11:00am and only a few shops were open and the town did not look like it did when we came through before. We asked a couple of shop owners and the person at the chamber of commerce visitor center what was going on and no one could tell us anything. There was a weird vibe when we would talk to anyone. After about 30 minutes of walking around town we decided we would just move on. We called the number given to us, since no one was at the property and explained our issue and hoped she would be understanding since it was just noon and let us ca
Wilmington is small, charming and TOURIST FRIENDLY. Perfect location. Easy, free parking. OK, There are stairs to the top floor, no elevator. But it was well worth the climb. We entered a full apartment. A well appointed kitchen, dining alcove. Two well sized en-suite queen rooms. Natural light and well lit fixtures. A small (en-suite the largest) room with sofa bed and TV All bathrooms were showers only. Air conditioning in all rooms worked well. Plenty of hot water. Clean. Small outdoor seating area. Our hosts were very welcoming. Dining suggestions and open for any questions. Would definitely stay there again.
Our stay at the Vermont house was a pleasant surprise. The host was attentive and gave some great recommendations for the area. It's centrally located , I would definitely stay again or suggest this place to anyone traveling in the area.
