March can have great skiing conditions and that's what we had. The Crafts Inn is located in a great area for both alpine and cross country skiing. The rooms are very comfortable and some have views of the Deerfield River. We love to cook most meals in our room and there are good restaurants within walking distance.
I love this place. I’ve stayed probably two dozen times and it’s always a great vacation. The Inn is historic and right in the middle of town. Each room I’ve stayed in has a full kitchen and a private bedroom. The bed is big and so is the closet. Everyone here is lovely and the town is Wilmington is so adorable! I highly recommend and I’ll be back next summer as usual!
I recently stayed here and I would love to give it a good rating but I don’t think I can. I will say there are some good restaurants nearby. If you are coming here for a getaway or if you have other guest coming to stay with you be warned the pullout couch bed is a joke. The mattress on the pullout is paper thin and is so old it has actual springs in the mattress. The bedroom has a tiny bed and the furniture needs to be updated. You will not have any privacy in the bathroom as it is in the kitchen with an accordion door. The TV is smaller than my computer monitor and is not even updated and forget about streaming as the WiFi cannot Handel that and believe me they let you know it at check-in. If I could have I would have checked out and gone someplace else. Stay away from this place
A quaint old-fashioned inn with surprisingly great amenities! There is a large inside pool, hot tub and sauna. Each room has a full kitchen with full-size appliances. So, even though there are several nice restaurants within walking distance, you can choose to cook your own meals as well. Or, you can use the outside grill, while relaxing by the Deerfield River. |Wilmington is located just north of the Massachusetts border, about halfway between Bennington and Brattleboro, so it's a great home base for sightseeing. Plus, skiing, hiking and boating are nearby.
I had booked a Saturday-to-Saturday stay at Crafts Inn while visiting Wilmington, VT, but we could not stay more than one night.|From the moment we arrived, the front desk experience was extremely unpleasant. The woman who greeted us was abrupt and rude, and when my daughter later called to ask a simple question about sheets for the pull-out couch and the Wi-Fi password, she was met with curt and nasty responses.|Unfortunately, the room itself was equally disappointing. It was dirty, very outdated, and clearly overdue for renovation. A CD player in the room was a telling sign of how long it’s been since any updates were made. The pull-out sofa was uncomfortable, and the beds were not much better.|We returned the physical room keys and checked out early because we simply could not enjoy our
