We had a fantastic stay at the Union Hotel and could not have asked for a better experience. The history of the building is incredible, and the hotel itself is beautifully maintained with so much character and charm. We stayed in the Lincoln Room, which was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed—perfectly blending historic authenticity with modern comfort. The staff throughout our stay were welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind, which made the experience even better. The restaurant and tavern downstairs were excellent and incredibly convenient. Great food, great atmosphere, and a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. The hotel’s location is ideal—within easy walking distance of local bars, restaurants, and everything downtown Gettysburg has to offer. We spen

This was a terrific find for our first time in Gettysburg. The hotel, although a very old building was nicely upgraded and without the musty smells that some old hotels have. Our suite was perfect and roomy. The bed was so comfortable, I got the best night’s sleep I’d had all week! The staff was great. We also enjoyed a wonderful dinner at their restaurant, “The Sign of the Buck”. Excellent food with lovely presentation and very friendly, accommodating service. And we even had music to enjoy in the bar, on a Monday night! This will be our go-to hotel and restaurant anytime we’re in Gettysburg from now on. I highly recommend!

This is our first stay here, and we were impressed! The suite was spacious and spotless. It was nicely decorated and very comfortable. There were nice little extras in the room, such as water and orange juice, even a white noise machine and ear plugs for those sensitive to noise, which was never a problem for us. As this is a boutique hotel, their front desk wasn't physically manned most of the time, but we had text communication with near-immediate response. Their service was stellar. We had left the suite a little late one day, but they still had housekeeping come by to touch the place up. They also left a nice gift on New Year's Eve. We come to Gettysburg from time to time to visit family; this is now "our" hotel.

We had not stayed here since it was James Gettys years ago. We enjoyed the now Union Hotel, its nicely updated and cozy. Direct access to Sign of the Buck restaurant from the hotel was nice. I believe you get a discount as a hotel guest. We had a room in front facing main road, and you will hear traffic and people but wasn't really an issue for us, just a note if your a light sleeper get a room away from front. Parking in back is tight if you have a longer truck but seems fine for your the average vehicle. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We were in Gettysburg for a wedding, and the Union Hotel was first on the bride's list of places to stay. I booked the Tillie Pierce Suite, which is described as a Deluxe King. ||The suite is nice, definitely. It is extremely clean; no complaints there. And the bed is quite comfortable. But earplugs are provided, which should have been a clue as to a potential issue. Apparently all the windows are single pane glass, and when the downstairs bar/restaurant closes, the noise level skyrockets as people spill into Chambersburg St. ||My biggest issue was the lack of a closet and lack of hangers. Instead the suite has a "hanging rack" (see photo). Very authentic to the period, I'm sure, but after being in a suitcase, wrinkled clothes need hangers, not hooks. Who wants to iron when you are on vaca
