The Trailside Hotel

UPDATE: After a number of failed attempts, no reponses and 6 months later they have reimbursed my money. For the inconvenience of it all i was offered 50% off the second night only of a 2 night stay. Not great but something. I look forward to visiting there when its open however and giving it another shot. Giving 2 stars at this time. Will update after our stay. ORIGINAL- It was our 5th year wedding anniversary... booked online, charge for a room that apparently does not exist. Had no clue until we drove hours to get there and arrived to find it closed with fire damage. Called and left a message... no response. Messaged... no response. Hmm.

This small hotel is an absolute gem—beautifully tucked away in the woods, surrounded by peaceful trails in nature. It's the ideal escape for anyone looking to relax, and enjoy the outdoors without giving up modern comforts. The design of the hotel is stunning—modern, clean, and thoughtfully connected to its natural surroundings. The room is tastefully decorated, blending contemporary style with a warm, welcoming feel. A standout feature of our room was the fully equipped kitchen. One of our favorite parts of the stay was the dry sauna nestled in the woods in the hotel's territory. Sitting in the sauna, surrounded by trees was truly unforgettable. I am highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet, nature-focused stay with modern design and amenities.

What a special place in a truly magnificent setting. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, each with its own unique personality. The beds were incredibly comfortable—we had a perfect night’s sleep. We stayed in the “Honeymoon Suite,” which had everything we could possibly need, and waking up to the view of the lake was absolute perfection. We visited the Trailside after an ATV trip in the area, and it had plenty of parking for both our truck and trailer. The fire pits at night were such a lovely touch! I’ll definitely be back to go biking and hiking right from the back of the hotel, where a stream and endless trails wind through the landscape. I’m already looking forward to snowmobiling from this spot next winter. A definite return destination!

What's my favorite type of family getaway? The ones where my kids forget to ask me where their ipad is. They are out in nature, engaging with their friends and truly embracing being a kid. Mine at 10 and 12 and we just has the best time. My husband loves to sauna and cold plunge and the one at the Trailside Hotel was custom built of the space. It has a huge window so you can take in the peaceful scenery while relaxing in the sauna. I personally loved that the hiking trails could be accessed right from the property. There was something for us all. Definitely coming back.

My Dad, sister, and I stayed here at the beginning of June. They've done an excellent job restoring this hotel and bringing it back to life! The room are updated and cute and the cold plunge, sauna, and fire pit are lovely additions! The property is so scenic and quiet, it was the perfect background to our weekend. A few things to note as they continue to improve: - Our keyless entry didn't work upon arrival and there was no contact number posted at the old office. Another guest helped because the same thing happened to them. - There is reusable glassware in the rooms but no dish soap or towels - The trashcans are tiny and quickly filled up with our fairly minimal takeout meals. - The shower head in room 13 sprayed water, my dad had to angle it to keep it from flooding the floor All in a
