The Timbers Resort and Lodge

In cabin #5 currently…go stay anywhere else! The advertised hot tub is not working. No Wi-Fi. There is no hot water in the cabin (the solution we were given is to use an unoccupied cabin’s shower 4 sites away!) Even if there was hot water, there is no water pressure…can’t get more than a trickle out of the shower head. Some of the outlets are so loose, plugs won’t stay in. The kitchenette is very dark with no light above the stove…very difficult to see to cook…had to use my cellphone flashlight above the stove. There are broken blinds in the bedrooms so it’s pretty bright in the morning. The basement does not have an inside entrance so if you have children staying in the basement, their entrance is outside, around the corner, and down the stairs. None of this is disclosed in the listing.

We stayed here for a week. It was so much fun we extended our stay. The property is spacious where you are not on top of other families. The cabins are well maintained and comfortable. We stayed in cabin 16 and had 4 adults and 4 kids. ||There are nice nature paths around the property that lead you to their private dock. The cover is awesome and still. The docks are powered and offer great protection to the water craft. The kids loved the water trampoline. ||The hills are a little steep but we just add the hikes to our daily activity routine. Others can rent golf carts if you are hauling things between the boat and cabin.

We absolutely love this place. We stayed here 5 years ago and again 2 weeks ago. Since the first visit, the cabins are now individually owned and are Air BNB/VRBO managed. There is an unattended office and it makes for difficult last minute plans or ability to get a quick question answered. On the upside, the cabin we stayed in was quite beautiful and well-adorned. They were very accommodating to our pups, and were friendly when we did speak with them, but this isn't the best business model for managing such a property.

With 4 spacious bedrooms, it comfortably slept 12 people, and the beds were so comfortable that everyone woke up refreshed and ready to enjoy each day. The kitchen truly exceeded our expectations. I picked the timbers resort and lodge for a family reunion. I had searched various resorts and pick timbers resort. I was somewhat skeptic but upon my arrival all was good. The new owner was very nice. My husband and I stayed in cabin 10, it was decorated with cabin decor and clean. I loved it! My other family members stayed in cabin 9,8,7,12,3 and the lodge. All cabins were very spacious and clean. The lodge worked well for all the family to gatherings. Golf carts were rented and were very useful in getting around.
