Big Creek Resort

We have spent our weeks vacation at Big Creek for over 30 years. The owners have worked dillengtly during that time to make their resort as pleasant as possible. They have rules which are necessary to make everyones stay enjoyable. Is it a 5 star motel? NO. If I wanted that, I would stay in fancy hotel up on a hill far away from the water. No thanks. Staff has always been cordial and do what they can to take care of any issues. Respect their property and you won't have any issues. They have a boat ramp on site and plenty of parking which is very convenient. The docks/slips are well kept. I don't have a problem reeomending a stay here.

This is our first time staying at Big Creek Resort in Shell Knob, Missouri. We are staying here for a few days to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. We made an excellent choice when selecting a resort that is on a lake, clean and well maintained. The owners, Kelly and Dawn Forsyth are great to work with and went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin with a nice heart shaped Jacuzzi in it. We had a full-size refrigerator, stove with oven and our unit was stocked with pots, pans, plates, glassware and utensils. The resort is absolutely pristine and our room was clean as a whistle. This resort has a large boat dock with swim deck and a very nice pool. We are already planning a return visit later this year. We highly recommend this res

The beds in our unit were pretty rickety but the bedding were good quality. The sheets, towels, trash bags, coffee maker and dishes/pans were in good working order. They were very nice and accommodated a crock pot. The swim dock and boat slips were perfect.

I never went to summer camp, but if I had it would have been like this. The owners are very nice, the rooms are clean with kitchens and full size fridge. All rooms have in wall A/C. Nothing fancy but reasonable priced for what you get. Not the best place for older people with hard time walking, most of resort is on a hill and you are walking on rocks. The lake is beautiful and they have boat docks. We went for a wedding here and it was a great place for a relaxed wedding. The setting was beautiful. So much fun for a large group or family reunion.

Great location, clean and private cabins, friendly owners. Docks are nice. Pool area is nice and the resort is set up very well. I wish all the cabins had central a/c. Some do and some don't but not a big deal. We will be back. It would be nice if you had a stronger Wi-Fi connection
