Green Cocoon

I definitely recommend Green Cocoon for a romantic retreat into nature! The views are great. I loved spending my mornings on the deck with a nice cup of coffee. The couples cabin feels secluded from the owners house and the other cabin. We didn't make it down to the dock but that looked beautiful as well! I only give it four stars instead of five because the WiFi and cable package leave a lot to be desired. If there is a game you want to watch while there, you may need to find a sports bar. The cable package didn't include ESPN and the WiFi made streaming the Oklahoma State softball game extremely choppy. Four of us spent 3 nights at the Green Cocoon in Shell Knob, MO in June. This place has the look and feel of an old log cabin tucked away in the woods--and it is just that, but with all the modern conveniences! The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave and all the cooking and eating utensils. The spacious living room is nicely decorated with very comfy furniture, a large stone fireplace, a TV and DVD player.||||There are two bedrooms and a bathroom with tub on the main floor and a shower room on the lower level that is accessible from outside. We made good use of this rustic shower room! ||||The cabin has central air conditioning that was appreciated in the hot and humid weather, but for us the best feature of this 100 year old cabin was the screened in porch that exte

Heading there in the morning, Sharon sounds very nice and pics look good. I'll post once we get ther and see what reality brings. We will be using the boat dock and bringing dogs. Looked at several places and this one looks like the best boat dog friendly place on the lake, that is not a resort with a bunch of kids and campers.

I've stayed here many times over the years and will continue to do so. The recent renovations to the large "Caddell Cabin" make it even better with the separate bedrooms instead of sharing one large room. Great place for families and couples alike. The owners live on site so they are there if you have needs but don't hover so you have privacy to do your own thing. Can't wait for my next visit this fall.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!! The worst experience I have ever had renting a cabin, I have been going to the lake for years (both TableRock and Ozarks) and have never experienced such horrible conditions. First off, I arrive and the AC is broken in the cabin and does not even make an attempt to repair (this is in the middle of July, felt like a sweatshop!!) Not only does she charge me full price she doubles what she quoted me before making reservations and fraudently charges my card more than double. When I see it on the bank statement she is unavailable from calls or voicemails and does not even have the decency to return a phone call after fraud. This place is the worst experience and just a heads up do not trust this scam artist with your credit card, she'll charge anything she wan
