The Surfside Hotel

This place is a treasure! My husband and I just wanted to be near the water for a little getaway and when I saw The Surfside online it seemed to check all the boxes. We walked the beach and enjoyed a gorgeous view of both the sunrise and sunset from our room. Dinner in the pub downstairs was delicious and everyone we encountered was so friendly and helpful. We loved the retro vibe and were very impressed when we saw a plaque hanging outside saying that the building is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Our room had been totally redone from top to bottom. We loved the decor, and the bedding and linens were top quality. The shower had excellent water pressure and the hairdryer was powerful, and those are two things that really matter to me. There was coffee, tea, and hot chocolate

I really can't say enough about this little gem on the sound. Typically I prefer bigger, chain hotels but there aren't a ton of those in the area and the ones I've tried are really just "eh". On the other hand, beachy hotels can be hit or miss. The Surfside Hotel exceeded every one of my expectations. First off, they are very communicative. They have limited man hours at the front desk but send texts and let you know what to expect about checking in and out (plus there's a number to call with any other issues during the stay - which we didn't need to use). The room is updated, light and cheery with great decor and beautifully clean bathrooms. Cleanliness is likely most people's priority and the room instantly gave me piece of mind. We did a staycation and really lucked out with the weather too. We ate outside at the Little Pub and enjoyed our drinks and burgers. The hotel is clean and relaxing. The beds were super comfortable and we both slept very sound. They have a coffee room which was perfect for grabbing a cup and sitting on the balcony enjoying the view and sunshine. I recommend Surfside for any trip to Stratford and the area.

Was this the fanciest place i've ever stayed? No, but this was a wonderful little hotel. We got in late, so they left our key in a lockbox and were clear with instructions and communication. The room was very large and clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. There is a little coffee station on the first floor which was really thoughtful and generous - i grabbed an apple and a granola bar... This was a VERY pleasant stay. It was November, so i only got my feet in the water, but 8.5 out of 10 here.
