Homewood Suites by Hilton Stratford

Common areas were well maintained and pleasant. Parking and walkways were plowed reasonably after a heavy snowfall. Breakfast staff were attentive and friendly, but front desk staff seemed disinterested in interacting with guests. Room (1 bedroom #247) was in need of maintenance and refresh. Furniture worn, holes in curtains, unlocked access door for furnace, bathroom did not appear well cleaned. Overall, wouldn’t return.

I cant not say enough about this fabulous hotel! From the moment you walk in the staff is so kind and accommodating. We had a housefire and needed a location that worked for our commutes as well as a room with a kitchenette. The Homewood Suites in Stratford has been exactly what our family needed in this very stressful time. The morning breakfast spread the staff put out daily is amazing. They change up the menu each day and offer new and exciting options to choose from. I love the the make your own waffle station that is always offered each morning. The coffee is hot and ready for me when I come down each morning and head to the office. Honestly in this terrible time my family is going through, this hotel has made things brighter for us. I gave this hotel a 1 out of 5, and that is generous. We are currently awake in the middle of the night because we cannot breathe due to the overwhelming marijuana smell pouring into our room. Our eyes are burning, very red, and we both have headaches and our throats are burning. My husband has asthma and is struggling to breathe. This is not a minor inconvenience. This is a health issue. The pot smell alone would have been enough to ruin the stay, but it did not stop there. We had lukewarm water the night we arrived instead of hot. The next day we were told that nothing was wrong with our shower. The ice maker also does not work. The person above us snores so loudly it sounds like we are sharing a bunk bed. Someone blasted music outside our room from 10:45 pm to 11:30 pm. It feels less

All the energy efficient ratings you would think there would be an even temperature in a room. The exterior wall was very drafty. Outlets and windows and around air unit on wall I could feel draft of cold air. Entire stay the temperature near the floor is noticeably cold. The place is dated but clean. Bathroom floor tiles were loose. Homewood Suites I believe usually have free guest laundry not coin operated. I sacrificed having a breakfast by staying at a Candlewood on my next booking for a 1 night so I could do free laundry. BTW if you are a traveler get a pack of Eathbreeze laundry soap sheets for travel. 2 packs have lasted me a long time in my suitcase.
