The St. Clair Inn

Staff was very kind and funny! Want to make that super clear, they were great! They informed us they were having HVAC issues so we could not control the room temp. However based on further research this has been an issue for a while. Rooms were tiny for the price. Bathroom door only had a 1/2 inch clearance from the toilet when opened, had to close the door to even get in the shower. Shower head was so low kept bumping head. Lower level rooms have a beautiful water view however people have the option to walk outside anywhere and can see into your room. So you get a view with some looks or you close your shades. Chuck at the Dive Bar was absolutely fantastic and truly made our whole night. He kept me and my best friend laughing with perfectly timed jokes and such a fun, welcoming personality. It felt like we were regulars even on our first visit. The drinks were great, and we never once had to wait for refills. His service was attentive without being overbearing, which is honestly rare and made a busy night feel effortless. The bar was lively, and a big part of that energy came from how well everything was flowing behind the bar. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, from a family dining together with their young daughter dancing to the music, to people along the bar rail enjoying themselves. The live guitarist was also incredible, upbeat, happy, and the perfect complement to the atmosphere

This is a great, quaint hotel right on the St Clair river. The staff are overly friendly, and you get that small town feel and friendliness. The Dive is a great restaurant with great views and very well priced. Our bartender Renee took great care of us and was a pleasure to talk with. We were here for a hockey tourney, and the staff were very accommodating for the kids. The hotel was also very quiet - which was important to us.

Food and drinks were great! Amber is the best server ever! We had the monte cristo and the Brussels sprouts. We added the tiramisu and the macchiato sponge cake for dessert. They were both amazing. Highly recommend….and ask for Amber.

Positive: The restaurant ( burgers were THE BEST!), the quaintness and the hot tub with the view of the river...oh, and LOVE the Nespresso machines in the rooms and the delicious scones Negative: Yes, please use real cream or half and half with the delicious Nespresso and make one half of the sitting area a high end breakfast buffet in the morning for an upscale experience.
