The Spectator Hotel

My wife and I stayed at The Spectator for three nights and it exceeded all of our expectations. The staff was very welcoming, the room was amazing, and the location is within easy walking distance of many attractions. Our butler Darryl brought breakfast to our room each morning, and his smile started the day off perfectly. The Charleston Market is across the street and there are plenty of good food options nearby. Each night we would return to our room to find a nightcap chocolate cup waiting for us. Our room had a huge shower AND a deep tub for soaking after a long day or walking. The bed was very comfortable. We also visited the bar and the food and drinks were delicious. It was a very chill vibe. Worth every penny.

At the front desk, Wade was welcoming, efficient, and incredibly helpful, making both check-in and any questions throughout our stay seamless and stress-free. It was just a lovely hotel. It was our anniversary and they surprised us with bottle of champagne and strawberries. Breakfast is the room made an easy start to the day. Lots of good details and the room was very quiet. The bar was tasteful and comfortable. Good place to take a break in the afternoon. So convenient to walk everywhere.

The Spectator in Charleston is a true gem. My wife's 75th birthday prompted a special trip to a city we had never visted before, and the Spectator seemed ideal in terms of location and amenities. But we were not prepared for the amazing level of friendliness and service we encountered on arrival and all through our stay. A botle of champagne awaited in our room (I did not ask for it!) and every request (blanket, decaf tea bags, etc) however small was executed almost immediately and unobtrusively. The staff was extremely helpful with restaurant and tour suggestions. All in all this was a perfect choice and we would definitely choose the Spectator on any future visit to Charleston.
